We can help.

Hi, I’m Jim Gilliland, founder and president of JG Communication Group. I started my company in 2012 after more than 30 years in public relations.

I love the work I do for my clients. I also love riding across America on my motorcycle. Riding a motorcycle is like communication. The situation constantly changes. Preparation is essential. You must keep looking ahead and be ready and responsive. Most importantly, it helps if you have a high-performing, dependable way to get from point A to point B and beyond.

I can help your company or organization get from point A to point B (and even A to Z) by listening, learning, and immersing myself in your business or operation to craft the right communication plans and initiatives to achieve meaningful results.

Extensive Experience

During the last 30+ years, I’ve had the opportunity to work in diverse industries operating domestically and internationally. The principles of strategic communication don’t change because the industry changes. That’s why I don’t limit my work to one industry or specialty. Instead, I find joy and satisfaction in cultivating unique solutions and strategies for any company, regardless of the industry. I’ve provided counsel and support to a diverse group of business segments including:

Manufacturing

Water + Wastewater + Energy Utilities

Publishing

Food Production

Start-Ups

Retail

Healthcare + Hospitals

Tourism

Areas of Practice

  • You can’t see the wind but observe its impact on trees. Like the wind, PR is a discipline that can be hard to describe, but you recognize its affects when you read it, see it, or become part of it.

At its heart, PR is about persuasion and influence. An experienced PR practitioner is compelled to listen and pay attention to what people do, say, or think inside and outside an organization as they tell their stories.

  • It is about protecting your brand by preparing the battlefield of public opinion long before the battle.

The 24/7 appetite for content and the in-your-hand immediacy of news creates a world where your brand can be riding high Friday and tank on Monday. We’ll help you prepare before crisis happens and respond effectively when it does.

Preparation is the first line of defense for your brand and includes these other capabilities:

    • Crisis preparedness

    • Message development

How We Work

Yes, there’s actually a “we” at JG Communication Group. I don’t work alone.

Each team is unique because each client is unique.

We bring in the right mix of experts and professionals based on our client’s needs.

That could be pollsters, social media influencers, former journalists and producers, sculptors, graphic designers, call centers, financial writers, songwriters, musicians, videographers, digital analysts, and many more.

We’ve even booked a comedian for a national sales conference in Hawaii.

You can be assured when we engage a resource to implement the plans and initiatives we recommend, they share our values and have the right credentials, capabilities, and character.
